Full-time / Remote, $115,000 – $130,000
We’re looking for someone who finds fulfillment in working closely with progressive nonprofits to turn their fundraising and advocacy goals into reality. Our clients include digital marketing teams within large nonprofits, as well as the agencies that support them. As our strategist, you will sit at the center of these relationships, listening closely, translating needs into scopes of work, and leading the execution of strategic deliverables.
How You’ll Contribute
Crafting solutions on Engaging Networks
Most of our clients use Engaging Networks (EN) to power their fundraising and advocacy efforts. You’ll be responsible for crafting tailored solutions on this platform that align with each client’s strategic goals. A deep understanding of EN is essential for success in this role.
Clients often come to us when they’re unable to implement complex campaigns on their own. They rely on us to devise thoughtful, often highly technical solutions. You’ll work closely with our developers to design robust approaches that balance the project’s ambitions with the client’s budget.
Providing strategy for retainer clients
As the lead for several long-term and new retainer clients, you will play a central role in shaping and implementing strategic recommendations. Success in this role requires staying current with industry best practices and proactively offering insights that elevate client efforts and uncover new opportunities for growth.
Collaborating with our Project Managers
You will work closely with our Project Managers to create detailed project plans, including accurate work descriptions and estimates. Together, you’ll ensure projects are scoped effectively and that clear expectations are set for both our team and the client.
Building rapport with our clients
Fostering strong client relationships is key to our success. Through open communication, a genuine understanding of their needs, and a clear commitment to their goals, you’ll help ensure clients have a positive and collaborative experience working with us.
Prerequisites
- At least five years of hands-on experience with Engaging Networks, with a strong understanding of nonprofit eCRMs (e.g., Bonterra, Blackbaud, FundraiseUp);
- Proven experience in a client-facing role, managing expectations and addressing client concerns effectively;
- Ability to generate scopes of work and estimates with support from your colleagues. While not a sales role, this position includes aspects of business development, and you should feel comfortable pursuing and responding to new opportunities, as well as helping shape proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate small cross functional teams;
- Experience working for a large non-profit in a web strategy or campaign implementer role, or working for an agency that supports these organizations;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Familiarity with WordPress.
Nice To Haves
- An understanding of what goes into running digital marketing campaigns at nonprofits;
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Moz) to enhance clients’ website visibility and performance;
- Knowledge of accessibility and compliance standards (e.g., WCAG, ADA) for nonprofit websites;
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Productive, Asana, Trello).

- Annual Salary of $115,000 – $130,000, depending on experience;
- Option for 32 hours/week – All our full time employees currently have the option to move to a 4-day work week, in which case, the salary would be reduced proportionately;

- A shiny new Macbook;
- $2,000 annual professional development stipend;
- A casual, dog-filled office in Columbia Heights, should you stop by; and
- Working for a company that cares about the progressive causes we work for.
